Are women capable of loving more than men are?

Settle this debate for me please. I think men can love just as much as women. Your thoughts?

Of course not.

I think women "think" they are and that's just a bunch of hooey. And I only say that because I think women express their discontent with men more than men bad mouth their unsuccessfull relaitonships. Men and women both have the same emotional needs. I seriously do believe this. And perhaps some women express this more than men.........but I say SOME women. This isn't true of all. and SOME men don't always say they love someone in words, but show it in every single thing they do. People should judge love by watching how someone wakes a little easier; Goes about their day a little brighter; and feels a little safer. Then notice the gestures......the caring........the being there. The concern......the sharing.......the laughs.......oh the laughs alone ought to show the love!! The want.....need....and desire start to follow. And all this without EVER.......ever saying I love you. Men are definitely capable of loving as strongly as women. Women just need to watch the signs........and perhaps not just listen for the words. :)

it's not a question of capability (i.e. having inherent ability)

it's a question of compatibility

if a "sympathetic understanding"
exists between a couple (i.e. if they are compatible)
then each partner
feels his/her love for the other
is fully valued
and completely returned

on the other hand,
if one of them
feels that the other
is not 100% vested
in the emotional partnership
--that is, if one of them believes that the other doesn't feel as much or as strongly as s/he, then that person holds back emotionally and spiritually from the relationship.

sometimes BOTH people think that at the same time.
each holds back, because they think the other person is holding back,
and neither realizes that their own reserve
is reinforcing his/her partner's reluctance to
reveal more and to deepen the relationship

both men and women love with equal depth.
their ability to love is equal
the strength of their love is equal
their desire for love is equal

their sensitivity and vulnerability to being hurt is equal
their need for understanding is equal

couples need to talk with each other
and listen to each other
and never hurt one another

then, their love will last
and their partneship will be impenetrable by outside destructive forces

love will be fun
and they'll be happy

Yes, some women are CAPABLE of loving more than some men, just as some men are capable of loving more than some women. I think most women allow themselves to feel love faster and stronger than most men do though.

I agree with you that men can love just as much as women. The problem which men seem to have more often that most women is being able to express their deep love. I believe that men have been hampered by the "macho man" image that seems to keep them from freely expressing their tender emotions. Where on the other hand, women are, more or less, expected to express their feelings more freely.

yes. Naturally, it's a womens instinct to love. Such as caring for her children. But there are some men who can love just as much.

There's why there is a saying... "there's a price tag for everything..."

and... "Men give loves to get sex, and women give sex to get love."
