I'd like to know if there are any websites or articles about the families on Extreme Makeover Home Edition. How do the families (many of very modest means) handle repairs, taxes, all the costs associated with suddenly having a larger, much more valuable home? I imagine that families have to sign a NDA about all these details, plus things like construction problems, etc., but I would just love to know.

I remember reading that the people who come in to help them try to make sure that they do not overburden the people that they are trying to help in the first place and have something set up to help them with the taxes and upkeep. As to what the article did not say.

Yea, that is an interesting train of thought, that said, if someone is redoing your house, with all new things the upkeep should be minimal for the first few years. And i'm sure in their crappy old houses it may have been more expensive to try to keep the old appliances and fixtures, and repairs up.
