The above petition is against a film which is currently in post-production. The film, by Jarrett Schaeffer, stars Lindsey Lohan and Jared Leto AS CHAPMAN. The film follows the days before the murder.

How is this NOT playing directly into the hands of John's murderer? This film is neither educational nor entertaining. Instead, it diminishes the horror of John's murder and sadistically shifts the historical focus from his inspiring life and career to his assassination.More importantly, it's just what Chapman wanted...it's what was running through his mind as he pulled the trigger. It's exactly what he was thinking about as he calmly sat down on the sidewalk and began to read, just after ending the life of another man. Censorship is one of the things that I despise the most in all the world, but this movie simply cannot happen. It's sickening, pathetic, ridiculous, and STUPID AS HELL among other things. And don't give me that freedom of speech crap. Free speech is not guaranteed or upheld for the majority, but for a select few that are deemed worthy. You don't have to be as wordy and dramatic about it as I am, but PLEASE sign this petition and pass it along. Help stop this!!
