The Discovery Channel says it won't release the tape, but right now Australian police have it as evidence. Already, there are images from the tape (with Irwin swimming above the stingray) in the new National Enquirer. So honestly, I think the tape will get out somehow, probably in a few months.
What's ironic is that Irwin once said in an interview, that if he died, he wanted it filmed. But I doubt he gave it serious thought, including what its public release might do to his family.

Steve Irwin's manager, on Larry King stay very last Friday nighttime suggested that the video changed into presented to the Coroner, who will spoil it after he's done with it. Why anybody is drawn to viewing this video is previous me.

ya i bet it is but no1 wants 2 see that it's tooo sad he's sooo cool,and plus the family wouldn't allow it. There's reports of dead sting rays everywhere like they found 5 in the same place and 2 had there barbs cut off just because his death, and a computer game called somethin like whatever his wife's name is revenge and there's a giant her shooting at stingrays in the water it's so sad! why would anyone do that?i just looked it up and they won't show his death but it said they show him pulling the barb out and no i didn't look at it

Not if there's any sanity in this world. I think they are going to have the tape destroyed because some fool will try to leak it unto the Internet. I wish the best for his family.

I read somewhere that they are debating it because Steve had said that even if he was killed he wanted it on tape. I doubt that his family would let it be released though. It would be too painful.

I am surprised it hasnt shown up on you tube or one of those sites already ...I dont think anyone should put that on the internet they need to think about his wife and kids
