How can I get labor started? I know sex and walking... Is caster oil really safe? What other ways can be used and are they safe? I have had a few contractions but not labor ones.

I have heard of people using caster oil but I actually talked to my doc. about that and he said that studies have shown where it actually stresses the baby and isnt good to do. He basically told me sex and walking is mostly the safe ways. Hope it all goes well for you and you have a quick and easy labor!

You could wait for nature. My Dr. "stripped my membranes" and I went early, but I swear the membrane stripping hurt worse than the birth. I also walked a lot to get things going. I have never heard of castor oil. Only olive oil to rub the perineum to help it stretch better during delivery.

Good luck to you!!

Ask your doc to "strip the lining". If you aren't ready to go into full labor, nothing will happen, but if you are, then it will start.
If the doc won't do it, all you have to do is insert a finger into the cervix, and rotate it around the edge.
A midwife did that when I was 9.5 mos pregnant with my 2nd son.
He was born within 24 hours.

You are in the home stretch!!
Just walk as much as you feel comfortable and have sex w/your honey if you feel like it.
You body knows what it's doing, you are in "stage 1" of labor and stages 2 and 3 will happen exactly when they are supposed to!
Soon you will meet your precious bundle!
Congratulation & All the best to you!!

Castor oil isn't safe. It can cause the baby to have a bowel movement before you give birth and they can inhale it as they are being born and it can cause pnuemonia and breathing problems.

Clean house and throw out junk you don't need. Do stuff now that you can't do after a baby comes. Clean, clean, clean.
