I don't think people are paying attention to those rules like they did some years ago. Some folks say after Labor Day you can no longer wear white (shoes, purse, pants) and you cannot carry straw purses, etc. They also say that after Easter, you can start wearing sandals and you should no longer wear boots, etc. Who wants to pay attention to the "fashion police" anyhow???

Open toe shoes can be worn anytime of the year.
Most winter, open toes, are dressy, sandle type heels.
There are also open toe- closed heel shoes, kind of retro looking.
I would stick to darker colors for Fall and winter.
I think flip flops, and flat sandal type shoes, worn in the winter aren't neccessarily, fashion faux-pas but it reflects the intelligence of the wearer. EG: she doesn[t have enough sense
to cover up when it gets cold!

I'm old-school, and I'm Southern, so I'd say no. (Plus, I now rather sadly live in the frozen northern wasteland of the midwest, which I hate, no offense to midwesterners, it's just not my kind of place, too cold--so it's already COLD! I don't want my toes to freeze.) However, they're supposed to be trendy for this fall, so I'm sure you can get away with them. My grandmother--a real steel magnolia--would have disagreed, and one of her favorite maxims was "trendy is often trashy." For what it's worth:)

Of course not.
If you mean heels, then their 'IN' for fall...like peep toe heels.
And it depends on the weather.
If it's cold, just where some textured tights with them.
Wear what you like.
Who cares anyways?
Hope this helps.

I'm still wearing flip-flops and no1 says anything to me. Even if they do say something to you, then you shouldn't care. Wear what you want to.
