Unless you are allergic to alcohol, and assuming that it was the only alcohol drunk, then all that will happen is you will dump a large amount of alcohol into the stomach and blood stream in a short amount of time. What you will get is drunk, possibly ill, as your friend reported. If there is already a lot of alcohol in the bloodstream, or if you continue to drink afterwards, you increase the chance of alcoholic poisoning and death. It is not a matter of how much liquid is drunk, but the amount of alcohol it contained and how rapidly it was absorbed into the body. The question is not what will happen, but why do it in the first place? Just because you can do a thing doesn't make it a wise thing to do.

That feeling 'awful' after wards was most likely alcohol poisoning. I was told that from a friend of mine who was a fire captain after I felt hungover for two days. I think I only barfed once. That wasn't the first time I had been hung over but definitely the worst. Since then I have never drank like that again! I haven't even been hung over since, and that was three years ago.
If your not careful people die from alcohol poisoning!

It depends on his weight, metabolism, if he had a full stomach prior to drinking among other things. Most people would probably vomit it up right away. Some would be so loaded they couldn't stand and others might just get a good buzz on...it's hard to say.

That is the equiv of having 5 drinks of high proof vodka. You would feel the same as if you did that - how did you feel after that?

Possible, but not exactly brilliantly witty.
He is lucky that he did not get very sick.
