You'll see the theory batted around on Yahoo! Answers, the rest of the Internet, and also offline when you engage conversation with real people about 9/11: The Bush Administration staged the the horrific events of 9/11. Apparently 36% of America believes there is some merit to this idea. The conspiracy ideas abound: Explosives were planted in the WTC, a missile hit the Pentagon, a missile shot down Flight 93, and dozens of other ideas. The whole idea that President Bush did all of this deliberately actually seems to be gaining momentum. It's not just for the tinfoil hat crowd.
For the record, I DON'T believe that President Bush brought about 9/11. A group of OBL-led Al Qaeda terrorists trained in Afghanistan terrorist camps did it, and even THEY didn't know the WTC Towers would collapse.
So why is there this persistent and growing movement in the idea that Bush caused 9/11?
Note: If you're going to rant about the "librul media" or Clinton please don't bother posting.

Just to add, that 36% number is gaining ground on the number of people who still support President Bush. We are turning into a divided nation of people who either believe in a kind of blind loyalty to whatever Karl Rove's talking points are to those with a visceral distrust of anything Bush says.

I am a believer that all evidence points in his direction. HOWEVER, it is circumstantial evidence and I am a bigger supporter in an investigation versus immediate impeachment. If it leads to that and he and the others are guilty - fine.
The truth movement is growing because of the secrecy, the lack of evidence that the DOD and FBI will provide. That leaves questions including, 'what have they got to hide'?
A good example is a question I myself just posted where the DOD says they don't have OBLs 12/13/01 confession tape to release under the freedom of information act.

this will create more questions and more strength in the movement. If there is NOTHING to hide, why are all the tapes showing what hit the pentagon held by the FBI minus the SINGLE 4 frame released footage that shows nothing?
Why wouldn't the prez and vice prez go before the 9/11 commission publicly and under oath?
That is why it is growing. No questions answered.

I in no way enjoyed the familiar Mechanics magazine... they consistently look to have such mundane articles while in comparison with different technological know-how guides. It like Spike television and G4 had a paper toddler. And for MEL_T: real scientists and real engineers tend to DISAGREE on many things... purely with the aid of fact some say its so doesnt neccesarily make it that way.

it's quite possible the president did not know about the 9/11 attack, but I believe the people around him did. Too much went into convincing the people that Iraq had something to do with it. I believe a war with Iraq was imminent regardless of the reasons given, so the people in his administration had to know something.....

It's so popular because people are starting to realize, Hey, maybe this war wasn't such a good idea. Maybe it's hindsight of the outcomes of the elections and realization that this administration was corrupt from the word Go.
Don't worry, I'm not blaming anybody but the current corrupt administration.

Watch the documentary by Loose Change. There are a couple of them and it explains alot of things about your question and it also does not blame Bush. I do not believe that he caused or orchestrated I do believe he allowed it to happen and was planned by a grater force that controls alot that is going on, on the planet right now.

36% of the people believe in alien abduction, Big Foot and that Robin Hood was a real person. What does that say about 36% of the people?
