That depends on whether it's MLA or APA. MLA is more for Reviews and Book Reports. APA is more used for Medical and Scientific reports.

MLA should start with name of the author/authors, Title of the Reference material ( book/ journal ), Name of Publication ( who published it ), Year it was published.
These also varied with which type of Reference you are using. For example it's different for a journal Citation than it is for a New Report done on T.V..
Same for APA. The citation page should always be in Alphabetical order. With a journal you should also include the pages where you can find the specific article along with the Volume/ Issue of the journal and Year it was published.

MLA Ex:
Okuda, Michael, and Denise Okuda. Star Trek Chronology: The History
of the Future. New York: Pocket, 1993. * The Title of the Book should be underlined or in Quotes. *

APA Ex:
Wilcox, R. V. (1991). Shifting roles and synthetic women in Star trek:
The next generation. Studies in Popular Culture, 13(2), 53-65
