i took a HPT saturday mid-day. it showed positive before the test was even complete! i knew i was pregnant but scared to confirm because of several past miscarriages. i spotted a little one week, then a little the next week. no spotting for 5 days now. i was having mild period like cramping so the nurse told me to come into the ER to be sure considering my history. i did go, had blood, urine work done, a pelvic exam & ultra sound also. everything came back fine, the dr left to check the ultrasound results last. came back in the room BEAMING. there are two sacks present. i'm carrying twins!!! i'm 33 and this is the first pregnancy i've carried even this far. needless to say i'm estatic. cervix is closed, everything is going fine thus far.
here comes the question though...lol
she said the twins heartrates were a little low. they're supposed to be between 120-180 bpm. one twin is 112, the other is 116. she told me not to worry tho. should i be more concerned?

No. I have twins so I've been through this. That heart rate is based on averages and a huge number of factors including the estimated pregnancy length. Everyone is different. you'll also get weight estimates based on circumference of the head, tibia length and humerus length. For my kids, this ended up being off by a pound each.
Next time you go in, drink a beverage with caffeine if it makes you feel any better. The heart rates will be up.
Bottom line, take all the measurements with a grain of salt, and don't worry unless your doctor is worried. It's a long time to spend fretting over something that probably doesn't matter.

congratulations!
I'm an ob nurse, i help deliver the babies in the hosp. spotting when the embryo implants in the uterus is normal. cramping may accompany this process. the sad fact is if your going to miscarry at age 20 weeks or less there is really nothing that can be done. if you have an incompetent cervix, they may want to do a cerclage. just depends on how many losses you've had and at what gestation. also there are other things like progesterone injections, etc. first you have to identify the problem--- why are you miscarrying. hopefully everything with this pregnancy will be picture perfect, i wish you the best. i have two little boys of my own--- love being a mom.... its alot of work.... would not trade it for the world. take care..

You can be concerned all you want you are the mommy and that is just part of our nature. Don't worry to much to put yourself into stress because that can do more harm to your babies. You can always get a second opinion on it and see what they say. I hope and am sure that everything will work out for the best. Take things slow and do not over do yourself. Good Luck and Congrats.

That is wonderful! congratulations. No dont worry the heartbeat range of unborn babies is a big one and a lot can depend on whats happening remember there is two in there and things will be different to a single pregnancy. I do understand your worries but stress is a big factor in pregnancy. Not saying you shouldn't worry but try and keep it in check. If something doesn't feel right get it checked and most of all enjoy it!

I believe there is always room for concern but she is the doctor... If she didn't seem like it was a huge deal, I would not stress myself out over it. (even though, it seems you have every right to with your past experiences)
A great place to investigate good questions like this is Web MD. Perhaps you might find some information there that will bring you comfort.
Prayers & Best of luck to you.

no. don't worry. the heartrates are still high enough to be healthy. the heartrates would have to drop well below 100 before the dr. would worry. also if the twins were resting and not moving about too much..the heartrates would naturally be lower.

Sperm compete, it incredibly is to assert, sperm of distinctive men compete or conflict with one yet another. 'the different day, I cheated on my boyfriend together with his superb buddy' Do you propose the day formerly at present or the day formerly? when you found out you're pregnant? '-- and final week i found out i grew to become into pregnant' in case you have been pregnant on the time of your infidelity, then no concerns. Did you cheat or did you drop him. 'Cheat' is an absurd be conscious for infidelity, such as you're enjoying chess or poker. this would be would be no longer attitude is getting you in hardship. VD? STD?

secondly i don't think its much to worry about i have heard from alot of people that its usually quite normal in twins. i really wouldnt worry especially if the nurse wasnt. if she thought there was a problem she would have done something right away.
my friend was pregnant with twins and she done heaps of studying about it, i think your babies will be fine.
congratulations and good luck.
