When you are on the toilet, you have to spread your legs open but you can keep your legs bent as you normally would. Then lean back slightly, relax, and insert. I like the ones with the plastic applicator, such as Tampax Pearl, because they are more comfortable and easier to deal with. I tried OB but because it doesn't have an applicator, I had a hard time trying to put the darn thing far enough in to be comfortable.
To take it out, pull it by the string. The end part of the string stays out of your body.

Some women suggest standing in front of the toilet and putting one leg on the seat, and one on the floor. Others find sitting on the toilet with legs apart works.

Girl you need to get some pads - stop messing with tampons they are an embarassing mess to deal with. Just get extra absorb pads and you will be fine.
