Because the budget for Canadian Television shows is tiny in comparison to the budget for American Television shows.

Take game shows for instance where thousands and thousands of dollars are doled out in American versions the Canadian grand prize on one show was a 2 slice toaster.

With lower production values the average Canadian show comes off looking like a poor cousin to its American counterpart.

hmmm good question.. I never thought about it.. are there many american television shows on canadian chanels?.... we have certain canadian chanels based on how close you are to the border! the closer you are to the border the more canadian chanels you get

Because Canadian TV sucks. Seriously, everything on Canadian TV is either a copy of USA TV or it sucks (except CBC).

Not to sound like I hate canadians. But it is because Canada sort of has the same tastes as USA, it just follows in this countries footsteps. But there is like Degrassi.
