the bank refuses to accept over twenty pennies unless they are rolled, if they are unrolled the bank will not roll them. Even if they are rolled they charge to accept them. I have to use them at a store to get even money for them. Stores are always short on pennies and are charged for them by the banks. I live in Canada.

for those of you talking about extra money git a grip. It is still my money that I earned. It is not "extra" money. All that has happened is that our commerce system has totally ground it into little bits on me. It is part of a plan to remove the cash economy and replace it with nice traceable plastic. No cash means no under the table businesses, no cash tax free work, not even a kid mowing lawns.

If you got rid of pennies, how would we purchase thoughts? I realize that Inflation raises the price of most things, but I don't think a price increase in this market is warranted.

don't roll em, just take em to the bank and they put em in the machine, lots of places won't take them if they are rolled, either.

If they were eliminated you won't have them to roll, BUT you would have the extra money either.
If I see a penny on the ground I pick it up. Every penny counts.

Not me. That would be inflationary--hurting the poorest the most. BTW you don't have to roll 'em yourself anymore --most banks have machines for you to use in the lobby.
