Yah right. Is what you are trying to say, that the court case against Saddam should be dismissed. He should be reinstated as the leader of Iraq. The Iraq constitution should be abolished. Michael Scheuer should be voted man of the year. Right? What are you trying to say?

Not if its the truth, which it is. Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism, and everything to do with Right Wing war profittering. The frenzy Americans found themselves in after 9/11 fueled the excuses the corrupt Bush Administration used to santion the unnecessary invasion. Not unlike a bad hangover after a night of drunken recklessness, we now are waking up next to the ugly fat chick. Only Bush is trying to convince us that the ugly chick is really a supermodel. Our immediate enemies were not present in Iraq at the time we invaded them, and Iraq was a weakened state that did not have the capacity to wage war against the US. We took our eyes off the ball, and now we are paying the price. Other countries posed a more immediate threat to the US and do today, but we are ignoring these threats. This is political gamesmanship at its very worse, and the future is less secure because of it.

I was not surprised, I think we'll see more and more of this.
I was surprised to read what Don K had to say, however. I presume he's a US citizen, so his exhortation to:
"Go to school and learn how people should live and find a way to get your country there without trying to take over the world."
made my jaw drop. Surely this is advice the United States and the United Kingdom should themselves heed.

The US government should have stopped when they liberated Kuwait from Iraq. Anything beyond that is already overkill. 9/11 was a demonstration of the US government's total underestimation of the enemy (despite tons of factual, verified intelligence data) and it's unwillingness to be more pre-emptive rather than have to clean up the bloody mess after the fact.
The American troops know their job and they do their best at 110%. The question here is "Are the American leaders and politicians really doing what's right for everyone (not just for Americans)?" Going to war based on a percieved threat rather than an actual threat is not exactly the way most American soldiers want to fight and win. They already learned that from Vietnam.

Political BS. The US had the UN sanctions backing them up. If Saddam had no WMD, then why was he refusing to allow the UN inspectors in? What was he trying to hide? Any sane person would have complied with the UN sanctions, they could have proved there was no WMD. the economic sanctions would have eventually been lifted. Saddam could have continued on his merry, paranoid way building luxurious palaces using the money that was supposed to go to buy food and medicine for his people including little children. He could have continued with his other favourite pastime, committing genocide on the Kurds and Shiites.

This kind of statement is actually quite common from former heads of departments and ex-ministers. It is just a pity that they did not exercise their moral conscience while still in office. Given that they did not do so one has got to assume any comments made are simply designed to get back at the people who removed them.

Why don't you ask those persons who were tortured and beaten by Saddam Hussein and his thugs for just wanting to have their own say in that Country.....The increase in AlQaeda members is just through the constant brainwashing that the Muslim youth receives these days from the so-called leaders of the faith frightened that they are losing control...

The best way not to get attacked by a stronger country is to not cross them. Muslims need to learn that not everyone wants to be islam and none wants a third world country trying to take over the world. Be nice to your country and treat your people nice and the West will not see how badly you are treating people. Work with us and let us help you grow. Your best bet is to be friends with a bully then try to fight them. Does Islam really think they can defeat the United States? That is where the problems starts.. Leave Israel alone and leave the USA alone. We only want to buy what you have to sell and save the poor that you are killing and cutting their arms and legs off.
Go to school and learn how people should live and find a way to get your country there without trying to take over the world. Threats like pushing Israel in to the sea only makes people mad and will get your world destoryed.
Muslims are too hard headed to understand that if you poke a dog with a stick the dog will bite you..
