Some Arabians are suitable. It depends on the horse's personality. And usually an older, more experienced horse is better. My friend has a business geared toward riders with mental and physical disabilities. Two of the horses in her program are Arabians. One of the horses has a physical disability of his own. He lost his right eye. Although Arabians can be very high strung, an older, experienced one can work very well. They are a sensitive horse that can read their riders very well.

Is the person a beginner?
What is the age and size of the rider?
The objective is to "match" the rider and horse.
All breeds of horses come in a variety of natures and abilities.
You best bet is to let an experienced rider help you choose your horse, with all that in mind.
Lessons for the new rider are a valuable tool to a great relationship with a horse.
You get to learn "how to communicate" with him, and what confuses him. And, so much more.
Best of luck to you.

Yes.
A facility in Bakersfield, California called M.A.R.E has various types of breeds from two Percheron's (maybe three now) for vol-ting (gymnastics on horse back) and Quarter, TB, saddle breed, Arabian mix and ponies.
I have volunteered there a few times as well.
Arabians, just like other breeds, are not all suitable. It depends on their temperament and their stamina as well. If picking out a horse for handicap, go to a facility that specializes in helping you gain knowledge and sources for that. Since individual horses are paired with the handicap itself. A person with athritis can be paired with a horse that a person who has a spine injury will not be paired with.

Yes, they can be suitable. It all depends on the horse, as with any breed.
Some Arabians are amazing for riders with physical and/or mental disabilities, they are usually a very friendly breed and incredibly smart.
At one hippotherapy barn, a Thoroughbred ex-racehorse is their best horse, their second best horse is an Egyptian Arabian.
Arabians are amazing, there's no reason why they can't be used as long as they are physically/mentally sound.

They can be. I have seen Arabs used in programs for people with disabilities.
It would depnd on the horses tempermant.
Arabs are wonderful beautiful horses and great for endurance mounts. But if they were calm and easy going you could use one for just about anything.

if you get an older horse, it could be used for this purpose. Some of them can be very calm, and can be a great joy to ride. There are programs that you can check into that do this sort of thing.

sure, but state law requires that you build a wheelchair ramp, and the horse won't like getting it nailed to him.
