I'm supposed to start college tomorrow, but things have come up in my life right now that I think school isn't top priority at the moment, so I'm thinking of withdrawing from this quarter, but maybe going back in 6-9 months.
I've already received the most Financial Aid I could get, so it's all paid for. My question is, if I withdrawl on the first day will they send the financial aid back? And when I want to enroll again in 6-9 months will they give me financial aid again or will they hold it back because I didn't go this time?

My husband is abusive and my baby and I are going to go to a family shelter nearby, that's why I'm withdrawing from this semester. I'm planning on going back when we are on our feet.
**I'm aware this is in the wrong catagory, but I'm not getting any answers in the education and reference one...go figure LOL.

YOU MUST go to the school and officially withdraw; and do it tomorrow! If you do not go and withdraw, they will mark you absent, since you are officially enrolled
If you withdraw through proper channels, they will send the aid back and you will be able to receive it again when you are ready to go back to school.

Well you are correct in that safety first for you and your child is primary and most important in this situation. The best thing to do is go to your school financial aid office and speak to one of the counselors. Financial aid advisors have many avenues to choose from that we may not know to tell you. You definitely want to get the most out of your financial aid, if you can. You know the other thing to think about is that if you do attend, once the tuition is paid, you get the rest to keep. This could actually help you move into your own place, provided you have other financial means to support it. At any rate, good luck and hope all works well for you and your child. Stay safe and God bless.

If you have not received a financial aid check yet (which more than likely you have not bc classes havent started) the financial aid office will send the money back (to the government). You will be eligible to enroll later, they will not hold it back. Now if you make a habit out of w/d they will cut your FA because they will think you are just doing it to get the money. Good luck!

Financial Aid is designed for you.
No matter what happens to you, the government wants you to continue with your education.
Plus talk to a counselor at the sheltor to hook you up with the proper documents for your financial aid officer.
I applaud you for getting out of the abusive relationship.

They'll give you financial aid again. Could you please, please, please try to keep going though? You are at a shelter so you can get someone to help watch the baby; you're already in a bad situation, things aren't going to be perfect like a perfect nanny or something. You can do it. Don't let him win by seeing you withdraw. This can be brought up in a court situation. Try to be strong. You already have been, now keep on being strong.

generally what happens in our country is that if anyone withdraws
a part of the fee is withheld and the remaining is either returned or adjusted for the next time.
if u r in a hurry go and talk directly to the public relations cell in the college.
abt ur husband , get justice from any women supporting organizations or the police.
