I was pulling apart my stapler and one of the staples poked me, actually a good bit went into my thumb. I haven't had a tetanus shot since I was a teenabger so I am sure I would be out of date ( I am now 23, I dont remember when they were required back then) Should I go get a tetanus shot tomorrow?

Here is what I found....

"What should I do if I get a puncture injury?

Minor wounds: Clean the wound thoroughly with soap and warm water. Leave the wound uncovered, if possible.
Severe injuries: - See a health care provider for evaluation and treatment (stitches, antibiotics, or a Td booster shot).
Pay attention to any signs of infection such as redness or warmth of the wound, swelling, tenderness, or fever. If signs of infection develop, consult your health care provider.
If I am injured, how do I know if I need a tetanus shot?

For a minor injury - Get a tetanus shot if your last tetanus shot was over 10 years ago.
For a complicated or contaminated wound (including puncture wounds) - Get a tetanus shot if your last tetanus shot was over 5 years ago."

Antibiotics work as well as a tetanus shot. Many people, like myself are allergic to the shot itself and I'm always told to just take an antibiotic. In regard to the shot, it is probably the only vaccination that has any real value to it, however, like ALL vaccines, it compromises your blood and immune system. The reason you need the so called "booster" shots is because, like all vaccinations, it only provides temporary immunity. I would purchase the book called, "The Sanctity of Human Blood" by Timothy O'Shea before getting any more vaccinations or shots of any kind. This is a very good book that has been well written, documented, and referenced by medical professionals and researchers that provide a very good, clear, and concise understanding of what the whole vaccination scene is about. Don't be intimidated into getting a vaccination out of fear that so many people use to sell you on the idea of vaccinations, get the facts and then decide from good scientific data and reasoning. good luck to you

Yes! A tetanus shot is good for 10 years. While clean, a staple isn't sterile. Better safe than sorry.

It's highly unlikely that you will get Tetanus. A what age was your last shot? It is recommended routinely every 10 years. You may still have immunity. Regardless, from a clean staple...I would be really surprised. Go to your family MD or ask your mom if she has any records just to be sure.

It isn't necessary, but if you don't have to pay for it, then it wouldn't hurt to get one. Tetanus shots are good for about 10 years.

Vaccinations are bad for you!

A vaccinated person is MORE likely to get a disease than a non-vaccinated person. The whole theory of vaccination is flawed. It causes a weakening of the immune system thus making those who are innoculated more susceptible to disease.
There are so many awful side effects to vaccination that it should be considered extremely dangerous.
Just sit back and think for a while.
Is there any sense in injecting a disease directly into the bloodstream.
We have been subjected to an awful mind control program to enable the drug manufacturers to make a fortune.

You should have one just to update. We never know when we'll get injured by something rusty or with bacteria on it.
