I have a picture I want to convert to a cross-stitch pattern. Is there a software that can do this? Or maybe an online service where I can submit a photo and they process it and send me the cross-stitch pattern? Does anyone know of any store or shop where I can have that done? Hope you can shed some light on this. Thanks everyone.

Michaels and Hobby Lobby use to sell the program. Wait for the sales ad to make it affordable. There are several web sites that will do that for you. Please look at the links I have postes. I have found one that has all the names of programs. All the others are sites that offer help.

Yes there are both! I have a programme for my PC called 'PC Stitch', I bought it on ebay quite cheaply as it was an older edition. You can add your pictures, alter them, add bits, or start with a blank canvas to make your own from scratch. It will also give you the list of colours in popular floss ranges such as DMC so you know how much and what colours/numbers to buy.

There are also many places that provide this service, I've seen adverts in the classifieds of cross stitch magazines. Happy stitching!

If you have a computer printer you could even do it.
Purchase graph paper and print the photo to it and
than figure out your color data. Otherwise you can
send it away there are a number of programs that
assist with transfers of photos to cross stitch.
If your not sure look in a Mary Maxium catologue
and they have a method that is available for what
your looking for.
