I HATE getting up in the mornings let me tell you. But I am fully in tune with how much sleep I need. Go to bed at an hour which allows you get enough rest and then you have to strategically place your alarm clocks in your room. Set one to about 10 or 15 minutes before you are ready to get up. That way you can start waking up and the other goes off when it's time to get up. This clock must be where you have to get out of bed to shut it off.

Now it's up to you to be disciplined enough not to lie down for another 10 minutes. Jump in the shower, get dressed and go about your day.

Exercise and eating right will help. You can also try setting an alarm and getting up every day at around the same time. Like 6:00 or 7:00.

did you mean hobbits or habits? Too very different things-- First, to get rid of oversleeping Hobbits, grab them firmly by the ankles and chuck them out of bed-
Second, to get rid of oversleeping habits, go to bed at a reasonable hour, set your alarm clock for exactly 8.5 hours later and when it goes off, make sure you have to get out of bed to turn it off. You may need one of the extra loud ones.
