We all live a long life-just not in this human body.
And no to the nursing home. I am already a prisoner in this body, I would not want to add to that being a prisoner in a building full of people who abuse and are mostly there just for a pay check and don't really care about the soul and spirit of the residents. At least, not in U.S. nursing homes. Perhaps other countries are different. I wonder, are they? If anyone knows please e-mail me.

Like many people have already said, no way! I would love to live a very long life, if I could be assured I would remain strong (mentally and physically) throughout that long life, but deteriorating, I certainly wouldn't want to extend my life with a future so grim as what you describe. Nursing homes suck, and I wouldn't like to spend even a day in one...hope that didn't come out wrong.

The older I get, the longer I want to live.
If I had to...I'd rather live in a nursing home than, say, in a cardboard box on the street with my few worldly possessions in a shopping cart.
Nursing homes aren't necessarily prisons or mental institutions; it's entirely possible to have a good, full, interesting life there.

I would like to live to be 100 if my mind would stay active and If I had to be confined to a nursing home--better that than tie my kids down with me. When my mind goes -I go!!

Only if I felt like I had something more to offer. If I could write while in there and maybe publish something.
But not if I was incapable of communicating or useless.

No, I'd prefer to live an active life full of adventure and spirit...When they are gone, life's all ready over.

Probably not; however, I don't know what it would be like to live in one. It might be nice.
