Your baby feels what you are feeling due to the fact that it is connect to you threw cords.. when you are angry your heart races you baby can hear that.. your body gets tense feels this aswell. Your blood pressure rises whitch creates more flowing blood in return your baby can hear and feel this happinging to you. And as your baby is develpoing more it can hear sounds so if you are angry and speaking loudly or yelling your baby is affected by this as if some one is yelling at you.

I must say the other answers are bullhonky and sound like old wive's tales. The baby feels stress based on what is happening physically to you and to her or him. In other words If you are diabetic this could effect baby. Or if baby is some how sick. When a health provider talks about babys in utero stess she usually means physically not mentally. Baby does not need prozac. This meaning does change slightly when you are in labor.

I think that when you are stressed out, it causes certain hormones to be secreted, and that can be passed on to the fetus.
