Even if the court determine that a man is the father of a child it still doesn't determine custody. Until anything is filed with the courts determining custody, either parent can do whatever they wish with the child. This is a catch 22 deal, if custody is not filed with the courts you can move without any approval on his part, but he can also take and keep the child in his care without your approval. Once paternity is established, custody and a parenting plans needs to be also. It is at that time that a decision can be made on any provisions you will have to follow if you want to move. Beware the courts are really getting on mothers who they think is stopping or making it difficult for men to be regular dads!

You can move as long as you do not have any legal court document saying you can't. Is he paying support? Does he see the child on a regular basis? There are some situations where you have to move; such as a job that betters your quality of life. In these situations, even if he argues it and takes you to court, normally the judge will rule with you.

it depends on what type of relationship the father wants to have with the child.. he may be fine with it. but if he is not then you have to go to court and prove that your moving is in the best intrest of the child.. meaning if you have gotten a promotion or a new job where you are making more money to support your child. other factors such as a good school system daycare and things such as that hold up... Good Luck.

if your talking about crossing state line, you have 2 let the court know , if he is ordered 2 pay child support..you will have 2 ok it with the court before you move... but if your talking about moving 2 another neighborhood,, then send a letter with your new address 2 the court.. is all..
