Birch tree - almost like a symbol of Russia.

Other trees are aspen, poplar, maple, pine, spruce, willow tree. In southern parts - oak, elms, hornbeam. A curious fact - what is called kedr (кедр) in Russian, is in fact "Siberian pine". There are NO true cedars in Russia! They grow only in the Mediterranian (Lebanon and Turkey, for example). More on this is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siberian_Pine

Plants - wormwood has a special meaning to Russia, I miss its smell.
