Classic Rock is full of love songs. Try Billy Joel, try Journey. Moody Blues' "Nights in White Satin" is my favorite, but they have others. Melissa Ethridge's "Come to My Window" is sweet and fun at the same time. Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" is pretty and artsy, but maybe a little depressing or mellow. Tom Petty's "Built to Last" is very peppy and upbeat, definately rockish. Cydni Lauper's "True Colors" is soft and mellow. Rod Stewart and Phil Collins are some others to check out. If you want something a little more obscure and punkish, try David Bowie's "Soul Love."
Good Luck!
