Some women just love to flaunt around the fact that they have the right to choice when it comes to abortion. They'll say "It's my body, my pain, my hormones, MINE, MINE, MINE!!!!" What about the choice not to have sex to prevent pregnancy? WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT CHOICE? Based on this, can it be said that women don't have self control when it comes to sex? Yes, I do think that men DEFINITELY have a responsiblility to fulfill when they decide to lay with a woman when she gets pregnant, but this question is about women since they have the right to decide to take an innocent child's life even though they played a part in creating that child. If they have a right to choose abortion, then why is it that can't choose not to have sex with someone knowing that sex leads to pregnancy? All answers should pertain to abortion due to consentual sex, not rape, incest, or abortion due to therapeutic reasons.

If you are having consentual sex, there should be no "just in case" since you already know thay having sex has the possibilty of bearing children .

I believe that a woman has the choice to have sex, to not have sex, to carry to full term if pregnancy results, and to have an abortion if pregnancy results. Personally, I would not have an abortion, but I think that every single woman on earth has the right to have an abortion safely performed if she chooses to have one. Seeing as how our population has run rampant, I truly don't see what the big deal is about pro-life. Pro-life is nothing more than a political stance used to gain votes through religious and emotional irrationality instead of reason.
One more thing. I don't think that men really should have a say when it comes to abortion. It's the woman's body, not the man's. When a man can get pregnant, then he can have a say about abortion.

I live in a very low income area of the country where girls are pregnant from the age of 14 on. I agree with you completely. I also feel that young girls should be made to understand the consequences of unprotected sex. Not only can they get pregnant, but they can get any number of STD's and even HPV which could lead to cervical cancer.
I don't think that all women understand or can even get their heads around the fact that they are ending a life when they have an abortion. I am in no way a pro-life advocate, in fact I'm pro-choice. I would just rather see all girls better educated from an earlier age. Abortion is devastating and no woman should be judged for making that choice.

Yes, there is the choice not to have sex to begin with. Men have that choice as well, but its only the women that can get pregnant. As one who advocates a woman's right to choose (which includes the right to choose birth over abortion), I also feel very strongly that sexually active women have the responsiblity to use reliable birth control at all times. If there is doubt about the reliability, then the woman shouldn't have sex, period. An abortion should not be viewed / used as a regular form of birth control. Unfortunately for some, it is.

Pro-choice inherently means that a woman also do NOT abort if she doesn't like or want to. There is a choice. So it can also include a so called "pro-life" approach. Pro-choice is not automatically anti-life. I agree that both men and women should be responsible when engaging in sexual activities, because there are also sexually transmitted diseases. They should use contraceptives depending on the outcome they want or not. Also, abortion shouldn't be taken lightly.
Sadly, it looks like lot of pro-life people are also pro capital punishment. Isn't that against life?

Same reason men choose to have sex with women when they know they can sire a baby. If you're gonna have sex, male or female, you need to use protection and keep in mind that no protection is completely foolproof.
As for abortion, that's a personal decision, though I'll admit in my personal opinion, some folks have no business being parents.

What about birth control failure? It's not 100% effective. And I would like to remind you that you said SOME women like to flaunt it. What about all of the women that don't flaunt it, but would like to have it as an option for when things go wrong. We do have self control when it comes to sex, but there are situations like you mentioned when that is taken away from us. We like to have the option "just in case." And here's something to think about...how many people do you know are virgins, or abstain from sex all together?

I have to tell you this is a pathetically stupid argument. Of course women have the choice to be abstinent. Doesn't everyone? Most people who are sexually active are aware that sex can lead to pregnancy. What's your point? And what does it have to do with abortion? sounds like a lack of education and too many emotions running rampant to me....

I agree with you. It's way to easy for women and young girls especially, to become promiscuous and not bother to take precautions.
Men should take more responsibility as well.
