I've a PLC which is connected to Com port of computer, but XP automatically assumes it is a ballpoint mouse.

Question

How can I force my WinXP to not recognize it automaticaly , and let me to work with my external device independently? (I has only one Com port on computer)

Com ports are not very Plug n Play friendly. Your power line conditioner should have come with a driver disk. If not get the driver on line. Another alternative is get a serial to USB converter and plug it into a USB port.
