You don't *have* to use your husband's name. If you want to, you'll need the marriage certificate as proof for social security and the DMV. If not, just leave it as is.

I got married a couple months ago. Sometimes the name change thing can take time. I don't think there are major limits - Your drivers license may have to be changed in 30 days and some health insurance companies require you to notify them immediately or within 30 days.
