Make sure you purchase the correct size for the correct season. You don't want to end up, if your son is born in the winter, with summer clothing at 0-3 months.

Make sure you get enough onesies (long and short sleeve). If your son is going to be born in the winter make sure you buy a warm snowsuit type thing.

Best of luck. If you run into any questions I am sure there will be a lady at the store that would love to help you shop for a baby! We live for these things!

Personally I'd start before he was born. Like 1-2 months before hand. That way the stores should have the season appropriate clothing, and you might have an idea of how big he'll be from the ob/gyn.

I'd start off with lots of onesies. And I mean lots. Then I'd only buy a few new cute outfits, the rest I'd get at the thrift store or Goodwill. They grow so fast, and they spend so much time in footie jammies that I don't see the point in spending $22 per pair of pajamas. I've found clothes at the thrift store with the original tags still on them, I've found clothes that look brand new, but I've also found some that are just plain nasty. Another good place to shop would be children's clothing resale shops. They only accept clothes in good condition and they usually have a GREAT selection.

If you're expecting a winter baby, make sure you have warm fleece type jumpers to put him in and hats to cover his head. You lose most of your body heat through your head, so think about how much a baby with hardly any hair loses. Good luck and happy shopping!

You want to make sure you have plenty of sleeper type outfits as that is what your new born will spend most of his time in (you will be amazed at how many of these they go through in a day). I would get size 0-3 and 3-6 month size. Newborn size is almost a waste since they will only fit in them for a few weeks. Also depeinding on when the baby is due and the climate in which you live, make sure they are correct for the season so the baby will not be too hot or cold. Also have a few sleep sacks for night time. They are great since you will be sort of out of it in the middle of the night when they wake for a feeding and changing and the less snaps and zips the better. For a new born dont spend too much money on difficult cutsie clothes. They will just spit up on them in a few minutes anyway so just have a few decent things so that when friends or family are coming over to see the little one he looks nice for photos and such. For the most part it will just be you and the baby so keep it simple for yourself. Then when they get a bit older and you are more used to dressing the baby you can start to have fun picking out more interesting clothing.

Probably whatever size that will fit him. Onesies are a staple. Diapers. Socks/booties. Depends on the weather. Isn't there going to be a baby shower? This is all very strange to me.
Are you SURE you're not making this all up? For attention, maybe?

Lots of onsesies and tshirts! some NB and 0-3 mo sizes. when they are tiny it's nice to swaddle them so have some recieving blankets handy too. If the weather is cool then some sleepers would be a good idea, with the feets in them!

I am also having a boy and I started to buy sleepers, little t-shirts, socks, baby's coat, receiving blanket, I have not brought clothes yet because newborns grow so fast that I would prefer to wait until he is a little bigger....

Cute ones. Onesies, sleepers, little pants and shirts, coats, sweaters, little hats to keep the head warm, get bibs. Don't go over board on clothes because they grow out of them really fast. I always found it easy to just keep them in sleepers and onsesies untill about 4month or so, it's just hard to keep taking clothes off to change diapers. But you will do what you please.
