no one really wants to know the exact time of his/her death
we are not psychologically or spiritually advanced enough to have that death-time knowledge
if we knew
would we start scheming, perhaps stealing, to live a lavish life-style?
would we give up trying to improve our selves and our surroundings?
would we be gluttonish?
would we be martyrs (giving away our organs and possessions) with over-abundance so that our families suffer by the burden of our ill-health and poverty?
if we knew the hour of our death, our views would be skewed.
the importance and meaning of participating in societal structures--for example, voting, following laws, volunteering, enlisting--would be changed.
if we knew the hour of our death, we'd lose freewill.
whereas now, when we don't know the time of our death, we plan our careers, families, leisure, retirement, health improvements, purchases, based on a set of criteria that centers on the belief that everything will fit.
when we learn just how limited our time is going to be, we'll feel pressured to rush, even if other family members don't want to.
if we knew the hour of our death, our mental health would suffer.
by nature, humans fight for every breath, and we do all we can
to beat death.
if we were to suddenly (not through gradual, evoluntionary change) operate from a different set of ideals, our psyche--the "thing" responsible for our thoughts and feelings--wouldn't know how to balance the "fight against death" with the "acceptance of death". we'd become confused and unbalanced in our thought process. mentally ill.
maybe we'd even kill ourselves.
would that be our subconscious attempt to change destiny?
can destiny be changed?
IS the time of our death already set?
no matter what we do to prolong or shorten it?

Yes I would love to know. It would help me to do the things that I really want to do before I'm gone. I have a hard time slowing down and really enjoying life sometimes. I think if I knew when I was leaving you could squeeze everything in, like when you go on vacation.

I would not want to know because then I'd have 2 go about preparing for it, and I'm the type of person that just takes life one day at a time.

No I don't want to know when I die. My father-in-law had terminal cancer and asked how long he had to live. Doctor told him six months. He went and pick out his casket and got all is affairs in order before he died.
