My girlfriend and I have been together for over 3 years, but the last year and a half was spent in a distance relationship. Now that we're closer together again, we're able to have sex more often.

Lately, though we've been having a problem with a superfical sagittal tear that keeps appearing in the same location proximal to the most posterior portion of the vaginal opening. For those non-anatomists, if she is laying on her back, the tear is located just below the lowest part of the vaginal opening. The tear is no more than 2 cm and heals quickly after a few days, but I can understand that it is very painful. Because we are very active during sex (multiple positions during sessions), we're not sure when or how this happens but we're working on identifying it. We do engage in extensive foreplay, so we don't think it's a "not warming up properly" issue.

My question is, what can we do outside of sex to help with the healing as well as preventing this problem from ruining our sex life?

Sometimes that portion can be dry even if the inside of the vagina is lubricated. You might try some Vaseline on that part because it will protect better than a vaginal lubricant. I may be getting the location wrong, but I get the impression it's on the outside, maybe going to the inside. Something that protects, like Vaseline should help.
The other thing that might be the cause is changing position so quickly that it tears. Try making sure you are completely out of her vagina before you change positions.
Good luck!

First I would start out as adding more vitamin C to her diet, this will help in the healing. Working with many midwives,I have seen them use honey and Nori (the seaweed from a california roll) and made a patch and closed a tear after childbirth. When the tear is too small to repair with stitches, this is what we do that has worked great. your body mostly absorbes it. Leave it on for a couple of days or till it dissolves and you should be good as new. Also using primrose oil helps stretch the tissues without causing trauma.

the area you are refering to is called the perineum. In childbirth classes i learned that kegel exercises and local massage help to strengthen the perineum muscles. although i ended up needing an episiotomy (which is a surgical incision to make the vagina larger) in the end because my baby was in distress. so i recomend that your girlfriend do some kegel exercises..(ex..firmly tense up you muscles around the vagina and anus..like when you have to pee and you hold it, those muscles.) hold it for like 10 seconds and then slowly release and relax do up to 25 sets of those throughout the day. that should make her perineum stronger to prevent the tearing.

This area is a particularly painful place to tear. It's where a doctor cuts and stitches at childbirth. I suggest good lubrication and less exhuberance.

With that extensive, proper vocabulary regarding anatomy and the correct description of location, i.e., sagittal tear proximal to the posterior portion, stop trying to show off like you also have a big dick you dick.
