It's Syd, by the way, the UFO'ers didn't want to get him confused with Sid Barrett, another musician, but they related him to Sid anyway... it's Roger Keith Barrett if you wanted to know, but that's another story ;D

If you go REALLY early, as in Piper early, they were written by Syd. He wrote Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Saucerful of Secrets.

Dark Side of the Moon is all about going crazy, Wish You Were Here... heck, that one's self explanatory! The Wall is based on Roger and Syd's early life, with a few interesting plot twists. These aren't exactly "early" albums (Actually, they're some of the last produced), but they are dedicated to Syd in one way or another.

Oh, and something neat for the kiddies:
Shine On You Crazy Diamond
SOYCD
SYD

Neat, eh? Syd actually walked in, fat and bald and slightly confused, while they were recording that. True story!

Ask me anything at all about Floyd, I could probably tell you.
