Nagin is an idiot and the governor is a hairless ape and I believe they mismanaged the rescue and evacuation. With that said the people of new Orleans were responsible for their own evacuation and safety. I realize that some of them are poor but how much effort would it have taken to secure a ride? You should never expect the government to bail you out, that is just not the business they are in.

As for voting I have a sneaking feeling that you may have not been that pro Bush even before Katrina.

If it was all his fault maybe but I prefer to blame the mayor of New Orleans and Louisiana because they are in direct charge of their city and state! They should have quit but they have some guts to stay on after the way they let their people down!Bush may have too busy worrying over war and terrorists to see the lack of leadership and control over the sea walls, employment, evacuation plans and routes, and rescue. He did get on it after the folks failed there and got a man in there to get it done later.Democrats need to start saying how they will do better instead of just bashing Bush. So far all I know is that they will not secure the borders any better and allow abortions and just talk about the terrorists but I haven't heard anything concrete from them!So who knows if America will be lead well the next few years?!

A few that are unaware of the truth. The entire Katrina fiasco was faults of the city, state, and national governments. GW had a very small area of responsibility in the mistakes since the area was under control of the local and state governments and not the federal government. The error made by GW was causing federal assistance to be later, by 24 hours.

I think Americans are smarter than that. I think the USA will realize that while Katrina was a sad experience, there are global issues demanding our attention. Remember, Bush is in his last two years. He has had a lot of difficult cards to play.

Unless the dems come up with a platform besides bashing Bush, Americans will continue to vote republican.

How was katrina Bush's fault? That city/state has been dem controlled for 60 years. The US Army corp of engineers has been telling those idiots for 20 years that the levees weren't safe. Bush gave more money for the levees in his first 4 years than clinton gave in his 8 years. The gov told Bush that everything was under control, and that they needed no extra help. Blame her.
The real question is how the Dem's are going to get all of you welfare leaches off drugs long enough to go and vote for them.

Having seen live the mayor of New Orleans and the governor tell Bush to let them handle the crisis before intervening, Bush should not be blamed. All we hear about is New Orleans. If the President tells you for days to get out and you're living below sea level, would you sit in your house and ring your hands until help arrives? Incidentally, would you go back and clean up the debris at your own home? Or would you sit on your *** and wait for the government to do it all?

no matter what anyone says it was not Nagins fault.
the US government dragged its feet. i think that no one was prepared for such devastation. have you seen Spike Lees take on Katrina...i don't think he was being bias in his film. it does look like the government wanted to ignore the victims of Katrina based on social stature and economy....just like barbara bush said ....she thought they should be pleased that they were getting to rise above their lifestyle....what a b*****
the republicans have lost the next election because of it.
i base my voting decision on the one i believe to be the best for the job...right or left doesn't matter
