Because everything's so PC these days. I'm surprised they haven't banned the word "waitress" yet.

Keanu Reeves consistently acts the comparable, no emotion in any respect. notably lots all of those stupid Disney little ones are poor actors. Denzel Washington, Mel Gibson, Brad Pitt, Angeline Jolie, Cate Blanchett, Charlize Theron, Tom Hanks, and Kate Beckinsale are sturdy at switching issues up.

It's all related to everything becoming so bloody politically correct in recent years. Actress is now thought ot be a sexist term, so everyone calls themselves "actors" instead.

Actor does not indicate gender, and never has. It's only since the advent of television that anyone has cared. For example, they don't call a femal pilot a pilotess, or a female lawyer a lawyeress.

Probably because "actress" comes with negative connotations like the casting couch and not being a serious "actor". & the word "actor" seems to be gender neutral.

they used to be called actresses and I don't know why they changed it, but I think it has something to do with being politically correct. Or equality of the sexes. or some other reason. (shrugs shoulders)
