That's the old proportion problem .
50/1 = 6/x , let's just remember that x will be in gallons
and that there are 8 pints to the gal.

x=6/50=3/25 gal.
pints =3/25X8=24/25 pint

The wonders of modern education that doesn't teach there are 2 pints to a quart and 4 quarts in a gallon

You'll need 6/50 gallons of oil and that's 8*(6/50) pints or 48/50 (or 24/25) of a pint. I'd just throw in a pint and let it smoke a bit ☺

Hi. 8 pints to a gallon, 6 gallons is 48 pints. About a pint (48/50ths).
