Because everyone at Yale pronounces it "new-cue-lar". It's everyone else that's saying it wrong.

Jimmy Carter also said it that way, and he worked on a nuclear submarine. Graduate of the Naval Academy. Nuclear engineer. People thought it was "cute southern draw" then.

Because different people pronounce things different ways and some people, including presidents, can not pronounce words the way everyone else does.

Well its like the word aluminum. A lot of people cant say aluminum.

I mean the guy isnt a great president but dont pick on him cause he messed up one word.

not only he can't pronounce words like nuclear but when you ask him a smart question that contradicts to his way of thought he starts stuttering like crazy and then he makes you shut up or he will try going to the next guy.

in one of his speeches he says for Americans to believe that this war is not for a good cause and that were doubting why we went to war as Americans its "unacceptable to think" ...
