1. make sure you are ironing correctly - get your mum to show you just to be sure!
2. your ironing board should either be mesh or metalised fabric to reflect the heat and steam
3. cotton and linen is particularly stubborn. Iron while damp on a HIGH setting - ensure that garment is 100% linen or cotton otherwise it will melt.
4. always fill iron up with water to make sure you have sufficient steam, and that the steam setting is up high.
Putting clothes outside on the line is a good way of ridding them of the bulk of creases - and peg everything upside down, then hems and waistbands which hold the most water are pulling the garment down and stretching it. The breeze keeps the tension and most of the creases are eradicated. Fold the washing when you take it down and this half irons it.
Using a tumble dryer and folding them as soon as it stops helps enormously.
Good luck! (and I have never had to use fancy products to get anything flat ironed!)

Are you ironing fabrics that need a lower heat? Make sure you have a good surface on the ironing board and a decent iron, don't set the temperature too high.
Sounds as though you are just rubbish at ironing.

Sounds like you need some lessons on ironing... Ironing is easy and enjoyable when you know how. Just take your time and don't get frustrated with it. There are specific ways to iron certain clothes, that's the trick. You can make it more enjoyable by making the steam smell nicer also; it's the steam that actually makes the difference...

Most clothes today are permanently pressed or in a fabric that does not crease, are you washing your clothes on a to higher hot wash?
I hate ironing, and avoid it by this method:-
I normally put all my washing out over night on an airing horse, then, in the monring, I finish them off drying in the tumble dryer on a medium heat, say ten minutes, then take them out and shake and hang them straight on hangers while still warm, pulling them into shape, I only iron cottons and only if I REALLY NEED to. Try it, saves on electricity and ironing!

I've found that it's only certain types of material that are like this. My tip is to iron these items while damp, works for me. Another tip is to let these items dry naturally, not in the tumble drier or beside radiated heat. Also the steam generator irons are pretty good.
Other than that you must just be rubbish at ironing!

I hate ironding which I why I wash on a medium setting and tumble dry on a mediums setting, and fold when warm. Leave in a pile neatly folded until cold, about an our, and you will not need to iron...thank goodnes Anyway, everyone out there in the high street looks all crumpled up from hair to shoes, so do not bother

learn to iron or just shake your clothes when they're wet before you hang them to dry. Haven't ironed for about 5 years and nobody seems to have noticed;everybody i know comments on how well groomed I am. Failing that, date a soldier-they're great at ironing, and polishing shoes!!!
