you are normal, all women start their periods at different times, yours will come when your body is ready.

I think I was 12 or 13. I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you. If you still have not started by the time you are 16, you can see the doctor, just to make sure everything is ok. You're probably like your mom...just a late bloomer.

No, you shouldn't be worried. Every female is different. I didn't get mine until I was about 16 1/2. And then it was not regular. If you're worried you can check with your doctor, but it's really nothing to worry about. I'm sure at 14 you have plenty of other things to think about!

No, you should not be worried at all. In fact, that may be a reason for not getting your period: You are stressed out, and too much stress causes some woman to miss their period. But chill out, seriously. I was just turning 14 when I got mine.

daughters get their periods at different times. a lot of this happens in your own body's time. I started mine when i was finishing the 6th grade. If you and your mom are worried, you might want to schedule a DR appointment with your family DR, and if he or she thinks you need to a ob/gyn DR. Not every one gets a period. I had a friend that never did get her period. She was still able to get pregnant and have a family.

Your Mom was 17...more than likely you will have yours around that time, too. I had mine at age 13....my older sis at 12...my Mom at 10...our youngest at ten also. My best friend had hers at 16....don't worry- relax...you'll get there. Believe me once you have it- you wished it never started. It's no fun...it's quite a bother actually.
If you are very, very skinny...it could be due to that. I suffered from anorexia before I had my period...it was quite a struggle getting back to normal, but the moment I reached my ideal weight..Bam!...my period started.

I was 13. If your mom was 17 it stands to reason through genetics that yours will probably start within the same time frame. There is nothing wrong with you. Enjoy it while you can!:)

I was 11 (my mom got hers when she was 10).
Generally you get yours close to the age when your mother got hers - it's genetic. You'll probably be a late bloomer, and there's nothing wrong with that. Don't worry about it.
