I see some really strong bodybuilders with lots of veins. But other times just a guy with skinny arms, can have protruding veins too. My veins are not that visible even if i have worked out for years. So is it more about genetics than how strong you are?

Veins in your arms can mean a variety of things.
Some people have them from genetics, usually skinnier people. Also, veins can be due to good blood circulation. As body fat is reduced, and your heart becomes stronger, it will pump more blood through your body per minute, making veins more visible.

Most of the time, when you see tons of veins on huge body builders it is probably a sign of steroid use. You can usually be big with smooth muscles, or very cut with lots of veins. You can't get both size and vein very easily by natural means. THe best way to get veins is to just keep lifting, do enough cardio, and eat a healthy diet.

Maybe genetics. But most guys I know with prominent veins are atheletic, more likely runners or cyclists, guys who need big blood flows to have high stamina. I do think the veins grow larger due to the blood flow, knew one guy that had arm veins the size a my little finger; almost gross. he was a marathon runner.

No ,, visible veins are not due to masturbation . As your age progresses your body secretes testosterone, which is male hormone , that reduces the subcutaneous fat .. the veins are thus prominent, and if you do muscular exercise veins dilate due to increased demand for blood .. So visible veins are perfectly normal for males ..

It is not a sign of strength. It's a purely genetic thing, though it is enhanced by people with low body fat.

Its mostly genetic, and really ripped people with the seeming paper thin skin are probably using steroids.
