Girls... define "being a man" as opposed to being "a woman"...and where does "equality" come into this... are men not allowed to have feelings...yet still not behave in the old fashioned way?

In my Grandads day if a woman said something upsetting she'd get a slap... which back then was what "being a man" was... I don't agree with being violent to my girl... so once again, how do you define "being a man?"

I think you have been mistreated terribly. Usually when a woman says this she is simply asking her partner to be a little bit more mature or considerate. But your situation here really takes it doesn't it. Get a DNA test, find out the truth before doing anything silly. Then you have to decide what you want for you and for the child if it is yours. Then you have to get a solicitor and make sure your rights are laid down in a court of law. I feel for you, anyone would be upset. I wish I could do more. Good luck.

Such a good question...personally I would prefer a dude in the old fashion sense...I think there is way too much of this metro-sexual thing that's going around like a disease in our males.

When a girl says..."be a man"...she's saying don't think emotionally like a woman but rationally like a man. A woman will always tell you how she "feels" about a certain situation.....no matter where a female is..... the office or at home she will most likely always start a sentence with "Well, this is how I feel about......" A man usually doesn't start a sentence out with "let me tell you how I FEEL about...." So if you are expressing your "feelings" and actually using you the word feeling then that is what she means by "be a man". Don't think with your heart...think with head.

Short answer..... No.

Men are not allowed to have feelings.

Thats why being cold and cruel is ok....... and the second someone critisizes you for being so mean. Just remember that you dont REALLY get a choice in her mind...... you are either a bastard or a pu55y. Take your pick.

As far as equality, HAH. When a man is allowed to express saddness or compassion or fear without being scorned, THEN I will say equality is real. Until then, Play the part you were dealt, Next time her friend butts in call her a Btch and throw something as you walk out the door.

It isnt your kid? Leave. Best thing you could do. and dont you DARE apologize, "be a man". :)

Well, "Being a man" usually means that you aren't supposed to let things get to you. Men in culture aren't supposed to have feelings, they are supposed to be tough as steal so to speak. This statement, however, could also mean you should step up and make a move to do something or rather. Woman generally are usually more emotional than men in the culturally viewed eye. But as you know, this isn't always the case.

She was saying be a man opposed to saying your acting like a child.

Men and boys act very differently when faced with a problem.

You have every right to be upset but violence is not the answer. She should be the one saying SORRY! You should get a paternity test to be positive. You have been being a man about it up until now by raising her as your own.

You had every right to be upset. Just because this little girl may not be yours, doesn't mean that she's not. If you were the one that has been in her life, who she thinks of and sees as her dad, then that's that. 'Being a Man' to me at least, means to step up, doing the things you need to do for yourself and your family, or the people you love. I hope this helps.

A real man can cry just like a woman can cry---that's the bottom line.

Whatever your girl said to you must have been pretty hurtful and I have to say to this that no matter what people say, it is not love when one can hurt the other--verbally or physically. So think about that too....Good Luck

Don't be a a pu ssy and let a woman walk all over you! They like to think they are in control but they are not. We are just caught up in this political correct society in which the women have all control.Do not let them get away with it they are all cu nts!!!!!!!

Girls like to think that they can say anything they want to their guys & get away with it. If you object in anyway that shows sensitivity to your feelings then you're not behaving like a man. Silly huh? I'm just learning I can't do this to my guy...it's hard but I see now how he feels.

yeah go on be a man and take it on the chin boy. it won't be the last time she does it. but be assured that equality doesn't come into it, if you say something to upset her she will never let you forget it.
