They both get scratched equally, white shows more dirt, black shows more fingerprints. I chose the White over the Black because there are more iPod accessories that match. Also I got a skin to cover it so I would have to worry as much about scratches. As for dirt an fingerprints...just keep it clean.

Come on they both scratch the same. Just buy a white iPod and a black case that looks really cool and then it won't scratch.

the final answer is they the two scratch the comparable. yet you may observe the scratches extra on the black ipods. The white ipods cover the scratches better, so while you're worried, purchase the white one. And notably -- get a case for it guy!!

I own the black nano and my daughter owns the white one. My black one is cleaner, less scratched than hers. But it may be because I religiously put it away and not just drop it in my purse. Of course, you know the new nanos come in a variety of colors now!!! Go crazy and get pink or green or or or.... choices!!!

I chose white because then I could get cases in cool colors and they would look best against the white.

they both scratch a lot, if you don't take care of them well, you could always buy a case, but on the black one you can notice it more.
