We are shooting for early Spring to have our basement totally finished. It is already studded and stubbed. Any suggestions from those of you who have already done it, or any 20/20 hind sight?
Thanks!

Hopefully you used steel or aluminum studding. If you are going to use drywall, use green board, it resists mildew and moisture. Use alot of primer on the drywall and then paint that resists moisture. Remember to run a de-humidifier in the Summer and whatever you do don't use carpeting. Either paint or tile the floor. We painted the entire floor gray, then used tiles to outline different areas. We then painted the outlined areas two other accenting colors to give it a 3 D effect. We used epoxy paint, and then applied a floor sealer over that. You have to plan your basement in case a flood happened.

i dont know what the climate is like where you live, but i'd say put some kind of "emergency" drainage system in the floor. whether its the washer, heavy rain, or a pipe leaking/breaking, theres nothing worse than flooding in a finished basement. also, leave yourself lots of exta electrical outlets, and if you dont have a lot of storage area in the rest of the house, you might want to set up some kind of concealed storage area.

good luck!
