The Civil war was wrapping up. Westward expansion was in full swing. The southern states were in total chaos and ruin. The northern states were going through economic booms. There was a lot of gold mining in California and the Black Hills. The Texans were arguing with the mexicans......a lot was going on!!

Depending upon where you were, either the "Civil War" or the "War Between the States" or the "War of Northern Aggression" just ended.
Honest, there is a certain military school whose history curriculum labels it with the "...Northern Agression" title.

ahh,, until April 15th there was the war of Northern Aggression, happening,, And about a week later Lincon was assissinated in Fords Theater....
