It was like i was retracing his footsteps, the life he lived, i was looking back through books, and seeing vidoe footage of him achieving his very own goals. Finding out secrets and things i never knew before.

In real life i remember him well, i mourned his death over 10 years ago, sort of forgetton about him as time has gone one, why is now reappearing in my dreams?

Howdy FireFly,
Something has triggered the resurfacing of the dormant memories of your grandfather. Perhaps it was a photo, or a sound, or even a smell. You never forgot about him. You are now old (wise) enough to appreciate the significance of his contribution to your life. Your are bringing his wisdom into your generation. The greatest gift that you can give back to him is to add your wisdom to his and then to pass them on to the next. Your grandfather will always be with you. He is looking out for you. Enjoy these dreams.. Talk to him. There is nothing that you cannot ask him Your are very privileged to have these dreams and to have him in them
Feel free to ask again..

I'd just like to tell some of the idiots answering that this is not a dead soul visiting, so speaking to it will make no difference, and it is not going to kill anyone because it isn't real.

As for this, answerer 2 gives a decent explanation. For whatever reason, a thought (maybe not even a conscious one, rather a subconscious thought) reminded you of your grandad. I suppose this will happen from time to time, after all dreams are very random and they act out in your mind whatever is going through your subconscious thoughts at the time.

I was real close to my grandfather, he died apx 33 years ago, i think of him all the time and yes i dream about him regularly, Your dream does'nt mean a god damn thing, you have seen a picture recently or you have talked about him, or someone else has mentioned a grandfather and this has gone into your sub concious, this has simply been released during sleep!! I'll tell you something spooky here now ok, I live miles away from where i work, My grandfather worked miles away from where he lived, I am now working with a bloke who originated from miles away just moved to relative surroundings near to where we both work, He worked with my grandfather, by complete chance i mentioned a place name and there was a common bond there, it then came about the info, i still have'nt got over it yet!! All the distance that seperated us, and saying the right thing at a paticular time!!!!!

It is very possible that you are at a point in your life that doesn't make sense to you and subconsiously (in your dreams) you are turning to a memory that brings you comfort. By retracing his footsteps and discovering things about him you are actually retracing your own footsteps and discovering things about yourself. What you need to look at are the discoveries you make in the dream because they may be hidden truths about yourself.

Mainly, as I understand it, the answer lies within you - as to what it represented to you, what were your feelings about your experience, while asleep, NOT when you are awake, looking back at the experience.

It is generally, if you are looking for answers to this and to maybe something troubling you from it, to find the help of someone to explore this with.

You would be wasting your time trying any of that alone.

Regards.
Sash.

Its your sub concious reminding you how much you love and miss your grandad, it doesnt matter how many years its been its just a deeper part of your brain remembering how much he means to you. And the secrets in your dream could be a way of telling you who your grandad was

dont worry too much about that. Dreams are made from your thoughts and happenings during the day. So the day before you must have seen something that reminded your brain of him.

Dreams mean nothing and are just a tangle of thoughts and fears that surface when you sleep.
