When your computer first turns on - look at the screen and read anything before MHZ - that is the processor speed.
While the other posters provide step-by-step instructions on how to accesses processor speed - I'm assuming that the asker may not be as technically savvy. Case in point - my wife has a computer but all she knows is AOL. Following step-by-step instructions is overwhelming for her. Whether I'm wrong in this case - only the asker can decide....

Assuming you are running windows XP on a PC, follow these steps:
Click Start
Right click "my computer"
right click "properties"
click on hardware
click on device manager
click on the plus sign by "processors"
Your speed should be around 2-3 GHz. I hope this helps
