Do you remember this story about huge robots coming out at night and fixing cars, etc.?

Your best bet would be to try and remember what magazine the excerpt was in. If you remember the magazine you can probably find the title by searching their database. If you can remember the author it would help you a lot too. The main problem is that with so many books out there its really hard to find a title on just a summary. If you know the year it came out, which is probably when the excerpt was published, it would help narrow down your search. A local librarian might be very helpful in your search as well. Best of luck
