The Fairfax Resolve was a precursor to the American Revolution.
George Washington, George Mason, and even Patrick Henry [brilliant, but a bit difficult to get along with] worked together to present this petition to the King to get the British to do a better job administering the colonies, treat colonists with equality in the courts, and stop interfering with trade.

Also, this resolution, out of Virginia, called for the abolition of slave trade as being "unnatural."

The Suffolk Resolve, out of Massachusetts, was about the same time and was much more strident. It also called for end of interference in legitimate trade and also warned the commanding general of the colonies that if his troops tried to arrest colonists for political reasons, that the troops themselves would be arrested.
