Celtic traditional music. I've been going through many hardships lately, but still try to smile and go on. In traditional Celtic songs, you find a lot of sad stories being sung out to a merry tune. And very tranquil songs that tell you to take life as it comes and be strong.
Fits me perfectly.

I would go outside your list a bit and say progressive rock, metal.I like to THINK every available moment and so I think other than a slight lack of improvisation elements Prog would fit my lifestyle and state of mind.I have to admit I listen toy rock, classical, jazz and blues. Therefore I don't think one single genre pins me down outside progressive(be it prog jazz, rock, metal or neo classical).Progressive describes the way I approach everything in my life.My health, guitar, relationships etc, etc, etc.
Most of my musical likes reflect both right and left brain thinking.Creativity and emotional content is important as is logic and thought. So progressive describes how I live my life be it metal, jazz or classical.
Dream Theater,Led Zeppelin,Allen Holdsworth,Steve Vai and Yngwie for prog and rock.Bach,Tchaikovsky,Vivaldi and Rachmaninoff for classical.I won't bore you with the entire list

I think that country music describes me the best. I am calm and laid back sometimes, but I've also got a wild streak in me. I live on a farm, and I only wear cowboy boots. Country music is also my favorite genre

I believe you on the punk. I get exhilaration from listening to The conflict and Ramones, yet i'm kinda 50/50 with the intercourse Pistols (hyped up). no one incredibly mentions the different punk bands like the Cramps, Agent Orange, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Zounds, undesirable Brains, SNFU, young ones, The Bangs, The Gits, The Distillers, Charged G.B.H., yeah you be responsive to what I propose....

Right now I am really into Heavy Metal --- because I like to rock out to angry music. I really love the heavy beats and angry words -- maybe because I am rebelling (Ha Ha). My 18 year old son likes it too --- so, its also a bonding thing. How often do parents like what their kids are into and vice versa? We also finish one anothers sentences. Sometimes even having entire conversations with out even saying a word. Perhaps we should both get out more.

I think I'd have to say classical, with it's wide array of emotional expression. I have a 15 year old daughter as well, so I know what you're going through. Just got to tough it out I guess.

I'm 31 and I'm feeling Acoustic/Bluesy.
It seems to be the perfect sound track to my life currently.
John Mayer, Matt Nathanson, Ray Lamontagne, Rachel Yamagata...I'm feeling them right now.

Prog metal, because that is the metal of life and emotion. My life is full of emotion lately, and you could say I'm "Learning to Live" (Dream Theater)
