I sure have . The thing that scares me is what a large percentage of Americans are still in denial about this being an existential conflict for us.It's so breathtakingly stupid I almost can't believe it though I hear it every day and see it in every poll.

It would be bad. The biggest problem is the de-politicalization of all of this. The President used up all his capital after 9-11, after Iraq has turned into a "quagmire" and the Democrats have no plan, and all both parties can do is bicker. I miss the days after 9-11 when everyone came together for a few months. We need that to happen again, and hopefully it won't take another sneak attack to make it happen, but I won't be surprised.

Thank You for an intelligent question.
I have listen to some scary discussions on what will happen if we lose in Iraq.
The News Media does not want us to know.

If we lose in Iraq, probably all of Europe will be taken over by Muslims.
Europe, as we know it, will be gone.
There are 2 million Muslims in Britain.
France already surrendered to the Muslim Teenagers that rioted there. The Teenagers won without help from the adults.
There is no European country that can defend itself from the Muslims.
Europe may be against us, but they expect us to win in Iraq to save their cowardly asses.

GIRLS, get ready to have your feet chopped off for letting a little ankle show.
You little air-head liberal twats that worry about terrorists being treated nice, have no idea what may happen to you if we lose in Iraq.
I've lived with those people, and I know.
You may get what you deserve.

I think about the result of losing the war on terrorism more than you can imagine. I am in my autumn years but I have a daughter, son-in-law (who did two tours of Iraq ) and several grandchildren whose lives will be changed forever if America and other freedom-loving countries don't win this global war on terrorism. What I cannot understand are the millions of Americans who simply have stuck their heads in the sand and who deny the reality that we win this war or lose our freedom and very possibly our lives. This is a war that we must not lose!

Number one, we can't "win" a war on terrorism. Terrorism is an idea, a method.

We can focus our attention on the real terrorists; for example, we could actually get Bin Laden, though the administration has shut down the group that was formed specifically to find him.

All we are doing in Iraq is creating more terrorists, and giving them a place to go to kill Americans. However, do you think they're only focusing their attention there?

I'd be interested in your definition of "winning" the war, esp. in Iraq. What would it look like? How will we know when it's done?

Personally, I don't think there is a War on Terrorism, the country we invaded had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks. This is war for control of oil supplies.

I hate to break the news to you, but we have already lost. We are OCCUPYING a country that NEVER should have been attacked in the first place; and now this report surfaces that says we are in more danger now than we EVER were by terrorists, because of our bumbling moron of a president and his entire administration! There is NO WAY to win a war on terrorism, and Bush should have known that to begin with! And yet there STILL are his idiot Neo-Con followers who INSIST that we're doing well in that region!! You cannot point to Afghanistan as a symbol of freedom any more, because we ABANDONED them and the search for Bin Laden, thereby STRENGTHENING the Taliban position there once more!! And don't give me that crap about "free elections" in either Afghanistan or Iraq, because that is a complete myth!! We have been reduced to an occupying nation who forgot what Vietnam was like, and now we're living it all over again--you just cannot convince the Neo-Re(tard)publicans of that FACT!!!

They won the war In Africa. They took over the Sudanese government and started to practice genocide. Killing millions of Africans and taking there pasture land and herds.
Kidnapping 30,000 children to use as sex slaves and then divided up the horn of Africa between them and continued the Battle. LRA leader Joseph Kony self proclaimed prophet and mystic has a huge following. The UN called it the worst humanitarian disaster in the history of the world.
Even those who converted were killed they just wanted the grass land and Allah gave it to them. The other rebel fractions they fight with is Minni, Arcua, Minnawi. The fighting never stops and they are letting millions die in durfer of hunger and starvation because they just want them to die so they have their land.
They chop off arms and legs and hands of any who resist. One little girl didn't want to be gang raped and tried to resist and they chopped off her hand. How dare her resist. Israel has the bomb and has never used it. The Islamic terrorists said, "If we had it we would blow them up." I believe they would. They used everything else the Iranian president gave them. When he gets the bomb we will go up in a mushroom cloud.
Russia didn't want to die, USA didn't want to die so MADD worked. They don't mind dieing. As long as they can take others with them.

II poosted a similar queston late last night. The common answer is that people think it will be like Vietnam.

I do not agree. I think if the US does not have a clear victory, we will live under constant fear of terrorist attack. Like Spain. And soon France.

I guess that would be a bad thing.

How exactly would we win or lose a war where we have no idea where the enemy is, how many of them are out there, and no one is qualified to surrender?
