Depends on what you really believe. God is the dream of men who are the dreams of God. Man did not create the universe, but it is possibly that man created the belief of a God or the philosphy called religion. Did humans always believe in a greateer being or that all things are connected? We know that many peoples from many different time periods in history believed in a variety of Gods for a variety of reasons. Does this mean these Gods were created by humans or were the beliefs there to begin with, meaning it is something that is ingrained in our DNA, part of us no matter what?
Does it really matter if one created the other or not? When you die, thats it, your dead, your energy fades and there is no more. No matter what anyone says, there is no absolute proof of life after death.

You need not have added any detail. Certainly Man 'crafted" GOD into an image that became acceptable.
Can we as a species "KNOW" that GOD IS,,,while alive????
Sadly that is a more argued point.
Whatever you believe should OFFER to you,,me, and others, and maybe some questions aren't meant to be answered,,at least not in a lifetime.
To debate, or even question religion,,,much like politics... is an endless journey seeking what may not be found,,,and/or a waste of time in that we may have better spent our time being OK with what feels OK.

I believe that man created an image called god to explain many things that they could not explain. This image is what makes people strivefor life, or else they will mostly likely see no point in life if there isn't a god or almighty being. But maybe there are things I cannot comprehend or imagine with my finite human mind.

Yes, because man needed something make himself/herself feel less existential about the world they found themselves in, so they created the idea of an almighty god.
God did not create man, because God does not exist. Man was created through evolution, and in a few thousand years, man will not exist and something else will have taken our places. Via evolution. But I am fairly certain that no god played any part in our creation.

Being that you put it that way, Man (mankind) did create many gods, this I would say is true because there are many gods, that is why we have so many different religions. Now as far as the "True God" He created man he the True God resides in Heaven and he is the maker of Heaven & Earth all thingsGenesis 1:1, Ps.83:18 he God has a name also and he created Adam & Eve. Thanks and take care.

It does not take more faith to believe man created God. That's a very easy assumption.

man creates ideas of god, which are necessarily wrong, because god is infinite and all ideas are finite [limited, ie, either this or that, ie charactered]
but the true 'idea' of god, as infinite, potential, creativity, energy, existence, everything, both this and that, life, beauty, joy, nothing, neither this nor that, characterless or all-charactered, identity or union of opposites, formless, clarity, reality, truth, love, splendour, glory, radiance, happiness, fulfillment, etc etc ad infinitum [= to infinity] is not created by finite man, but is 'created' by infinite man [= god = existence, etc]

Most religions consider deity to be infinite. It is not possible that the finite human mind could have formulated the concept of the infinite. Descartes wrote that belief in an infinite deity is an innate idea (we were born with it). Belief in an infinite deity was placed in us by God.
