Nothing, just open the door the way you are.
That should scare anybody.
A square, grey face will do it every time.

I read the answers and I don't know how old the kids are but I was afraid just reading those.
My dad use to scare us pretty good and it sure wasn't Halloween. He would put his shirt on then button the front up over his head like the headless horseman, then he would also stand in the doorway with his arm bent with the elbow where we couldn't see it and act like he was being strangled. He was a blast. I think the funniest things he did was to give up each a paper bag and a flash light and tell us to go out in the backyard at night and whistle real low while holding the bag close to the ground and point the light in the bag, he called it snipe hunting, I know now it was to keep us busy. I sure miss him.

I like the idea of sitting on the front porch and when the kids come up you jump up and scare them.

That happened to us as kids, but instead of a scarecrow it was a guy in a gorilla costume.

A gorilla seems so out of sort whereas a scarecrow goes right into the Halloween theme. So they see this gorilla and think, "why is there a gorilla here?" , and go up for a closer look. That's your cue to scare.

Let them knock on your door and ask for candy. Have someone answer it and be as sweet and nice as possible. Compliment costumes, tell them they're creative and original. Close the door.

As they turn around to leave, have someone dressed in a wacky costume with fake blood or a weird, scary mask, covered in green and red goo (I don't know, a freaky, scary individual) ...have them jump out as the kids turn to leave and try to catch at least one of them.

And if you want, you could give them a king-sized candy bar for their being the chosen one that was captured and scared sh*tless.

Just an idea, but I'm not that creative.

that is like asserting what's the element of occurring that curler coaster? Is it had to bypass to an amusement park? of direction no longer, although that is exciting. human beings like being scared in a secure ecosystem. Halloween is threat unfastened. no person is looking you to have a seance on the interior of sight cemetery for heaven's sake. How approximately purely relax. Carve a pumpkin, supply some little ones some candy. perhaps you may quite decrease loose and take a examine out a haunted residing house. Who is conscious you may also have a sturdy time!

The thing that scared me the most as a kid was this life sized scare crow/dummy sitting on a porch bench of the house. As we walked up to knock on the door, the "scare crow" got up and moved...it was the home owner playing a prank, but he seemed so fake, we didn't think twice until he scared the bejesus out of us

Get a friend to answer the door and tell them about a maniac on the loose then before hand you hide somewhere dressed as Freddy Kruger with a knife and chase them down the street.

Me and my brother did this and amazingly no police arrived (i suppose they weren't gonna believe someone on Halloween!!!!)

*get a candy bowl with a collapsiong hand as u reach for the candy. those scare me soooooo much no lie.

*have someone sit on your front porch and jump at the kids as they say "trick-or-treat". dont do it too soon. right when someone else answers the door is the perfect time.
